La Guadalupana

As always, for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe:

It is touching to hear my children, who are 1/4 Mexican, warbling La Guadalupana around the house, and to know that although I myself have no Mexican, Hispanic, or even Latino heritage, La Guadalupana is my mother too.

How interesting! So which of the grand parents is Mexican and does Mr. Darwin speak Spanish?

My mom's family is Mexican, though they'd been in the US for a couple generations. I don't speak Spanish, and my Mom only learned it in school. Her parents both grew up speaking Spanish, but the only spoke Spanish to each other, they spoke English to the kids and brought them up to be exclusively English speakers.
